“Every kid needs a champion”

Rita Pierson, a teacher for 40 years, once heard a colleague say, “They don’t pay me to like the kids.” Her response: “Kids don’t learn from people they don’t like.'” A rousing call to educators to believe in their students and actually connect with them on a real, human, personal level.

On Wednesday, August 12, 2020, from 11:00 am – 11:15 am, we’ll be discussing this TED Talk: Every kid needs a champion. (Click the link to view the seven-minute and twenty-five-second video.)

Why do cats act so weird? (TED-Ed)

cats are wierd

July 20, 2020

Dear Aiken High School Rotary Interact Club Heroes,

Did you know that I have a cat? I do and she’s a cranky, mean, ill-tempered, llittle beast. Of course, Mrs. Lader and I love her anyway. That’s just how it is with pets, right? 🙂

Mr. Lader and Pandora

Because I miss interacting with you, I have a proposal: Watch this short (under five minutes) TED-Ed video about cats and then we can talk about it and cats, dogs, or whatever pets you have, have had, or wish you had. – https://www.ted.com/talks/tony_buffington_why_do_cats_act_so_weird

Here’s the invitation:
Mr. Lader is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
